The last few weeks I have felt like I was running against a wall. Trying to push through, finding back to the fast personal progress I was making at the beginning of my mission. I know it is perfectly normal to have ups and downs but while you’re down, trying to get back up, that does not help with your frustration at all.
It was great to see how my heavenly father supported me and helped me to climb that wall. I received several cards, letters and e-mails from friends sharing personal experiences, testimonies and counsel that helped me a lot. I also felt the impression to read a talk from a Seventy that was given to me more than 7 months ago. It was exactly what I needed to hear! In addition, yesterday, President Deere informed me that I will have the opportunity to train a new missionary in the upcoming transfer, which is the perfect motivation for me to give my very best and strive to improve my skills as a missionary.
Those are only a few of many little things that came together in the right moment. Could it be coincidence? Of course it could. But why would God send down an angel to pick me back up or work a great miracle to get me going again if he can achieve the same results through many tender, loving, inspired and simple things. I am convinced that he is aware of every single one of us. Think of him as your loving heavenly father. Literally your father. And being the only perfect father there is he will NEVER let us down. He is guarding and guiding you. All you have to do is trust in him, open your eyes and you will recognize it for yourself.
"Or what man is there of you, who, if his son ask bread, will give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?" - Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi 14:9-11
