Yesterday, the plan for the Area of Europe 2015 was presented to us by Hermano Rodriguez. It includes three basic and inspired counsels to find and increase our happiness in the year 2015.
1) Invite a friend. For members of our church that means to invite someone who is important to you to learn more about the restored gospel and our believes. In other words: we are invited to share the greatest blessing we have and try to share the most precious source of comfort, strength and hope we have in our life. This is something every single one of us can do. No matter if we are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and it also does not matter if we live in Europe or not. If we make an effort in 2015 to share some of our blessings and our luxury, we will find more happiness and satisfaction than in 2014.
2) Become temporally and spiritually self-reliant. I learned the importance of this principle from my own experiences on my mission. The work I am asked to do requires all my effort, focus and both mental and physical strength. Whenever there is a problem with ether my economical or spiritual well being, I can not keep up with all these demands. Our own well-being has to be our first priority. Of course not in a selfish way. But only if you are doing well yourself will you be able to give support and care about your family, friends and relatives.
3) Find an ancestor. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gives great importance to genealogy and family history. Why is this so? We believe that families are eternal. We have the hope and believe that we can be with our family in the next life and for time and all eternity. There is nothing more important to me than my family. If our family is our very first and most important priority of all, we will find the greatest possible happiness and satisfaction.
I am far away from both family and friends but I know that those three counsels will bless me with more happiness in the new year and I hope that they will bless your lives, too.
¡Os quiero mucho!
